  • Cardboard box

  • Box cutter (or scissors)

  • Hot Glue

  • Fall Leaves 🍁

  • Camera ( or Camera Phone📱)

  • Bowl or Empty Circular Container

  • Treats (these are Russ’s favorite!)

  • and your furry model!

You’ll love spending some time outdoor enjoying the beautiful fall foliage responsibly. Your pups going to love crunching all the leaves as you go! Russ is a 4 month old french bulldog and he had a great time foraging for leaves and retrieving the treats through the hole. I’m sure your dog will have a great time, too!

Step 1

Measure the size you’ll need by having your dog stick their head into the bowl. They’ll probably be curious why you have the bowl out in their face and naturally sniff inside. Make sure to leave a little extra space! Leave the bowl on the cardboard box to cut a circle out for the head cut out. Cut out one side of the box so instead of four sides, you have three sides to create a “tri-fold” (think elementary school science fair- \_/).

Step 2

Warm up the hot glue gun and start laying down larger leaves first. Then fill in with smaller leave and at the very end put in your favorite leaves to have them pop! You can even add some pine cone accents like I did.

Step 3

Train your dog to go through the hole by telling them to sit behind the cardboard cut out and hold the treats in front so they stick their head through the hole. Mark with “Yes!” and give them the treat. As they get used to sticking their head it, start rewarding for the length of time with their head in the cutout! Perfection takes time so it’s best to be patient with your pup here! SECRET TIP: shoot a video and take screenshots after to get more of the dynamic movement of your pup!
